Product description

Industrial camera scheme with VGA interface

Core Video Technology provides the main IC-CV2880 for the back-end image processing in the industrial camera scheme. This IC directly receives the digital signals from the front-end sensor IC, such as YUV/601/656/RAW DATA, and carries out scaling and various image processing methods. Finally, it is converted into analog VGA signal output through the built-in DAC module. This IC provides a series of high-level functions, such as frame detection, especially for video booths and industrial cameras. It can effectively separate defective frames to maximize the definition of the picture. In the past, it was generally achieved through external FPGA

The current digital signal formats that CV2880 can directly process include 8-bit 656/601/1120/raw data, 16-bit 601, 16-bit or 24-bit YUV/RGB and other signals. The highest resolution of digital input supports 1920x1080@60HZ Or 5MP sensor, core scaler supports true 1080P60 scale, analog VGA output resolution can reach 1920x1200, and the built-in TV Encoder module supports CVBS and S terminal output. In addition, its analog VGA output and digital output support simultaneous output under the same resolution

CV2880 has a built-in OSD with complete functions. The Chinese and English characters or graphics required by users are drawn in the form of dot matrix in advance and saved as a library file. This library file and the software are stored in the FLASH of the external MCU. After power-on and startup, the software can be transferred to Memory for free use. The OSD can be displayed in full screen or easily moved to any position on the screen. When moving the OSD, you can directly specify a new display coordinate value, There is no need to refresh pixels

CV2880 supports 8 groups of full-screen crosshairs and 8 different colors, and can control the free movement of crosshairs by pixel

The CV2880 needs an external MCU to control it. This MCU works through the I2C bus. It is an ordinary 51 series MCU. The required FLASH space depends on the user's OSD complexity. Generally, the space required for various settings of the CV2880 itself is about 4K

CV2880 has built-in 32-bit 8M bytes of memory, and the main frequency supports 160MHZ

CV2880 itself supports VGA/YPBPR/CVBS/S-VIDEO direct output, and also supports digital output. HDMI, SDI, USB and other functions can be realized through external HDMI TX, SDI TX, USB module, etc

The CV2880 has a power consumption of about 1.5W at full speed at the highest 1080P60 level, and the chip surface temperature is about 37 degrees. It does not need an external radiator, and can support 7x24 hours of industrial operation

Core Video Technology provides CV2880 main chip data, software research and development bottom SDK, samples and development tools for free. As for the upper specific content of industrial cameras, such as software application functions such as crosshair, users need to develop by themselves. At present, the finished products of several industrial camera manufacturers supported by Core Video Technology have already been mass produced and listed, and their cost performance ratio is second to none among the current mainstream camera solutions.
